All India Bank Employees Association has decided to go ahead with their two-day nationwide strike on 12 and 13 July to protest against the proposed merger of State Bank of India with its five associate banks. This follows the conciliation meeting convened by the chief labour commissioner failing to yield any results, AIBEA general secretary C H Venkatachalam said. On the first day of the strike, all employees of five associate banks of SBI will strike work. Next day, employees from all banks will participate in the strike.
