Shikha Sharma has got another three-year term as MD and CEO of Axis Bank. The new term begins in June 2018. The board of the bank has approved the re-appointment. Sharma’s term was due to end in June 2018. Reserve Bank of India rules allow banks to choose a CEO only for three years, although they are eligible for re-appointment. There have been media reports that the bank is now looking for a new candidate for the position. But, the bank has denied such reports and it has finally decided on giving Sharma re-appointment.
