Nabard is planning a pilot project for digitization of SHGs in 22 more districts in the second phase of the SHG-bank linkage program. The bank had successfully completed a first phase of the project in two district of Ramgarh and Dhule. The project named ‘EShakti’ aims to cover all the existing SHGs in each of the project districts. The enabling platform will facilitate all the SHGs formed in the future also to use the apps on their own. Nabard has sought proposals from service providers, who may like to participate in the EShakti project and can operate in the remote districts with community driven organizations at the ground level in rural areas. The service provider is required to develop a complete technological solution for financial e-book keeping for the SHGs, which are estimated to be around 220,000 in the 22 districts. The entire pilot project will be based on ‘pay and use and ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) model.
