HSBC is expanding its Scottish operations, which will create some 500 jobs in the country. The bank said the expansion proposal includes its global risk business which was established in Edinburgh in 2015. It will also create new posts in its center of excellence for customer contact in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire. The bank added that the jobs would be phased in over the next six to nine months. The plan will increase the bank’s headcount in Scotland to 4500. The bank had recently launched a £500 million lending fund to support small and medium-sized businesses in Scotland.
