HDFC Bank have overtaken Reliance Industries to become the second most valuable company on BSE. It is the first time that the bank has crossed RIL’s market cap ever since it got listed in 2000. Shares of the HDFC Bank were at Rs 1285.30 on BSE, up 0.39%. This means the bank has a market cap of Rs 326,841.87 crore against RIL’s market cap of Rs 325,737 crore. The RIL stock was trading 2.38% lower at Rs 1004.65. HDFC Bank shares have risen 172% in last five years, while those of Reliance Industries have risen only 25% in the same period.
