HDFC Bank has issued around 3 lakh InstaCards, its instant credit cards in a year of its launch by the bank. InstaCards are delivered to customers within an hour of applying for a credit card in quick and easy steps on internet banking. With these cards, customers can do online transactions on eCommerce websites immediately on receipt of the cards. Physical cards are delivered to the customers in the next few days. The bank said InstaCard combines customer convenience and experience with cutting edge analytics to offer an electronic card. The cards can also be used at DiGiPOS machines where payment can be made using Bharat QR and SMS Pay. An InstaCard is issued using a combination of credit bureau information, pre-qualification algorithms and checks in the application form. It allows the bank to ascertain the eligibility of an applicant and issue the digital credit card within an hour. Parag Rao, country head, Card Payment Products, Merchant Acquiring Services and Marketing at the bank, said InstaCard is a game changer as it reflects the use of data analytics that enables to offer a product, which is ready to use, within an hour.
